Male supermodels are a cult that can rival with music idols and film stars. This is the newest phenomenon in our cosmopolitan and glamorous world. Such male supermodels as Tyson Beckford and Travis Fimmel are often stealing the limelight from female models by attracting increasing mass-media attention and love of millions of people!
Male supermodels are known to have become real superstars in the 1990s. The first modeling agency for male supermodels is "Boss Models". It is considered to have launched the careers of a number of most successful men of today. As a rule, these are men whose sculpted features and gorgeous bodies can be admired in the top fashion additions, magazines, on billboards, television and on catwalks in Paris, New York, London and Milan.

Tyson Beckford was born on the 19th of December, 1970 in Bronx (New York). He is one of the outstanding American supermodels and actors. Tyson is known all over the world for his facial structure, muscular physique and tattoos. As a matter of fact be belongs to the best and richest male supermodels of the Calvin Klein apparel.
Speaking about his early life, it should be said that he was once a gang member and was involved in several crimes connected with illegal narcotics sale and distribution. In 1991 a scout came across Tyson in a New York park and recruited him to the hip-hop magazine "The Source". In 1993 he was chosen to be the front model of "Ralph Lauren" for its Polo line of sportswear for male.
By 1995 Tyson Beckford appeared on the covers of the most popular magazines, for example Paper and Essence; he had also several multiple-page spreads in "Details", "New York Times" and "Vogue" editions.
His fame kept on rising and in 1995 Tyson Beckford was named "The Man of the Year" and one of the fifty most beautiful people in the world (according to the "World" magazine).
Another fashion male supermodel and actor is Travis Fimmel who was born on the 15th of July, 1979. He grew up in Australia and oncoming to the United States he had a successful audition with the famous Calvin Klein executives. Fimmel was chosen to be the Calvin Klein underwear and jeans model for billboard advertisements. What's interesting about this is that these billboards were soon removed because the London auto club claimed that women driving a car were slowing down to see the billboard which caused traffic jams and triggering accidents.
Since 2003 Travis Fimmel has been chosen to star in several American television series which are based on the Tarzan character. However, the show lasted only a few episodes. Another series he was chosen to star in were called the "Rocky Point", but they haven't been broadcasted yet. In 2005 Travis was invited to star in "Gusts", a psychological thriller, where he was proposed a role of a drug-addicted murderer. The filming began at the end of August, 2005.
Thus, nowadays more and more male supermodels become famous and attract the attention of people worldwide! They are considered to have been sometimes even more popular than female models. Male supermodels are always welcome guests at various television shows and series; the majority of them work for the most prestigious modeling agencies and other model management companies.
